Seo Techniques for Website Ranking

Search Engine Optimization imageProper content optimization on your website can achieve far greater results for your efforts, than building 800 backlinks from non-relevant websites.

Now, link building is important, don’t get me wrong, and especially social media link building which is vital these days. But! Unless you’ve written your content for content optimization on your site and done it right, you will have wasted your time, and effort.

You see, all results in Google are sorted by relevance. That is what they want. They want to present the most relevant results to their users when conducting a search for a specific keyword or keyword phrase in the search bar. And that is also what you want. Right!

You want to make sure that the content on your website is written in such a way that it attracts your targeted traffic (people) that are looking for what you are offering. You want to make sure that your content is key worded (optimized) so that prospects are ready to buy or call to schedule that appointment as soon as they land on your site.

Google has even admitted that it no longer gives Meta Keyword Tags a second glance. It does however, for now, look at Title Tags and Description Tags, but that can also change when the next Penguin update takes place.

For optimum exposure on the web content needs to be diversified, (web pages, blogs, social media, videos etc…) and it needs to be highly relevant to the keyword or phrases that your prospects are searching for trying to find you. Today when you meet these criteria you will do well in organic search results, (assuming your competition is not better at it than you.) If you ignore diversification and keyword optimized content, then your chances of showing up on page one are slim to none.

Today, on-site optimization only accounts for about 25% of the overall score. However, it is still very important. If this on-page information is incorrect, missing, or doesn’t match the content, search engines will either ignore or misinterpret your content and rank you low or not at all. Either way it means bad news for your website. Make sure your on-page information is formatted to match the content and desired keywords and keyword phrases associated with your field or industry. Otherwise your quest to be on page one will end before it ever begins.

So what are the best practices for keyword optimization for 2013?

Notice anything on this page. The bolded words perhaps? Have you noticed that the bolded words are all variations of the keyword title for this page. ‘Optimization’ as in keyword optimization for SEO.

The more relevant the keywords are on your web pages, the higher ranking your website will receive in the search engines. So, the next time you write content for your website follow the same guidelines. Have your keyword in mind as to what topic you are writing about, then write variations of that key word throughout the content of your page. The more times you can repeat that keyword the better, but make sure it sounds natural, that your content flows and not content written with keyword stuffing.

The Googlebots evaluate your content for relevancy, usefulness, quality, consistency, timeliness, disconnectedness, positive feedback and diversity of format (web pages, blogs, social media, videos etc…). These are some busy bots.

If Google catches you cheating, keyword stuffing or hiding keywords with your webpage by making your keyword white to go on the white page, Google will downgrade your ranking or remove you from search engines altogether. Cheating Google no long means just a slap on the wrist. It can mean banishment!

Make sure to use at least one image and/or one video on each page on your website and make sure the image and video have been keyword optimized for SEO ranking.

Remember, this all has to do with USER experience and bounce rate of your site, so make sure your content and Meta Tag description match to attract your target market to your website.
